2.2. Installation

Run the MBSetup-4.1.1.175.exe file with administrative privileges.
Select Work Computer.
Select Advanced Options.
Uncheck Create a desktop shortcut.

Select English.

Optional: Click Get Started.
Close Malwarebytes.

2.3. Configuration

Start Malwarebytes.
Select Settings.
Select the General tab.
Click Check for updates.
Click OK.
Select the Account tab.
Click Deactivate.
Click Yes to confirm.

Select the General tab.

Application updates:

□ Automatically download and install updates
□ Notify me when a new version becomes available

Windows Explorer settings:

□ Add Malwarebytes options to Windows Explorer

Manual scan performance impact:

● Manual scans take priority over other applications
○ Manual scans take less priority (less performance impact)

Event log data:

□ Collect enhanced event log data for support (not recommended)

□ Limit who can change your malwarebytes security settings

Usage and threat statistics:

□ Help fight Malware by providing usage and threat statistics

Proxy server:

□ Configure Malwarebytes to connect to the internet using a proxy server

Select the Notifications tab.

Notifications:

□ Show all notifications in Windows notification area
□ Alert me if any Real-Time Protection modules are turned off (Premium only)
Close notifications after 5 seconds

Play Mode: Premium only

2.4. Uninstallation

2.4.1. Malwarebytes Cleanup Utility

Run the mb-clean-3.1.0.1035.exe with administrative privileges.
Click Yes to confirm the uninstallation.
Wait about 3 minutes.
Click Yes to restart the computer.
