Step 1

  • Log on as <User>.

  • Start Thunderbird.

  • Select Tools > Account Settings.

  • Select Local Folders in the left panel with all the email accounts.

  • Click Browse.

  • Create the D:\Thunderbird Archive folder.

  • Select the D:\Thunderbird Archive folder.

  • Click Select Folder.

  • Click OK.

  • Click Restart.

Step 2

  • Start Thunderbird.

  • Right-click Local Folders and select New Folder.

  • Type Archives for the folder name and click Create Folder.

  • Right-click Local Folders > Archives and select New Subfolder.

  • Type the <email account> for the folder name and click Create Folder.

  • Right-click Local Folders > Archives > <email account> and select New Subfolder.

  • Type Inbox for the folder name and click Create Folder.

  • Right-click Local Folders > Archives > <email account> and select New Subfolder.

  • Type Sent for the folder name and click Create Folder.

  • Close Thunderbird.

Step 3

  • Select <email account> > Inbox.

  • Select Edit > Select > All.

  • Select <email account> > Sent.

  • Select Edit > Select > All.

  • Right-click on the selected emails and select Archive.

  • Select <email account> > Inbox.

  • Select Edit > Find > Search Messages.

  • Check Search subfolders.

  • Check Run search on server.

  • Choose Match all of the following.

  • Choose Match any of the following.

  • Click Subject dropdown list.

  • Select Date.

  • Click is dropdown list.

  • Select is before.

  • Insert the date that you want to archive your messeges to in Textbox <2016-12-31>.

Date is before YYYY-kkk
  • Click Search.

  • Click Save as Search Folder.

  • Type Name: <email account> YYYY-MM-DD Inbox.

  • Type Date or Name of folder <2016-12-31 Inbox>.

  • Click Create.

  • Close Search Messages popup window.
