3.1. Installation

  • Note: Requires Microsoft ASP.NET Core 8.0.21 - Shared Framework.

  • Note: Requires Microsoft Windows Desktop Runtime 8.0.21.

  • Run the VeeamAgentWindows_13.0.1.1009.exe file with administrative privileges.

  • Optional: Click OK to install the missing prerequisites.

  • Click Next.

  • Click I Accept.

  • Uncheck Run Veeam Recovery Media creation wizard.

  • Click Finish.

3.2. Creation of Recovery Media

  • Note: You don’t have to create a second recovery media for other computers.

  • Create a D:\VeeamBackup folder.

  • Start Create Recovery Media.

    • Select Start > Programs > Veeam > Tools > Create Recovery Media.

  • Select Image | ISO image file.

    □ Include decryption key for seamless restore from encrypted backup (protects from password loss)
    ■ Include network connection settings from this computer (recommended)
    ■ Include hardware drivers from this computer (recommended)
    □ Include the following additional storage and network hardware drivers:
  • Click Next.

  • Click Browse.

  • Select the D:\VeeamBackup folder.

  • Click Save.

    D:\VeeamBackup\VeeamRecoveryMedia_<Computer-Name>.iso
    
    □ This share requires access credentials:
        Username:
        Password:
  • Click Next.

  • Click Create.

  • Wait about 5 minutes for the installation to be finished.

  • Click Finish.

3.3. Configuration

3.3.1. Volume Level Backup

  • Start Veeam Agent.

    • Right-click the Veeam icon in the Notification Area and select Control panel.

  • Click No to skip installing a license file.

  • Type <YYYY-MM-DD>-<Computer-Name> in the Name field.

  • Click Next.

  • Choose Volume level backup.

  • Click Next.

  • Check Operating system.

  • Check Show system hidden volumes.

    ■ Windows (C:)
    □ DATA (D:)
    ■ EFI System Partition
    ■ Recovery partition
  • Click Next.

  • Choose Local storage.

  • Click Next.

  • Select the DATA (D:) drive.

  • Type 14 in the Keep backups for field.

    Folder :        D:\VeeamBackup
    
    Keep backups for: 14 days (excluding days with no backup)
  • Click Next.

  • Check Daily at.

  • Select 16:30.

  • Select Everyday.

  • Select Skip backup for the If computer is powered off at this time.

  • Uncheck Daily at.

    □ Daily at 16:30 Everyday
      If computer is powered off at this time       Skip backup
      Once backup is taken, computer should         Keep running
    
    At the following events
    □ Lock
    □ Log off
    □ When backup target is connected
  • Click Apply.

  • Uncheck Run the job when I click Finish.

  • Click Finish.

  • Close Veeam Agent.

3.3.2. Settings

  • Start Veeam Agent.

  • Select the Settings tab.

    □ Disable scheduled backups
    ■ Throttle backup activity when system is busy
    
    ■ Enable control panel notifications
    □ Enable email notifications
  • Close Veeam Agent.

4. Usage

4.1. Backup

  • Start Veeam Agent.

  • Click Backup Now.

  • Wait about 5 minutes for the back to finish.

  • Close Veeam Agent.

4.2. Restoration

4.2.1. Volumes

  • Start Veeam Agent.

    • Right-click the Veeam icon in the Notification Area and select Restore > Entire volumes.

  • Select a backup.

  • Click Next.

  • [note] Note: System volumes cannot be restored to the original location on a live system, but can be restored to a different disk.

  • Select a volume.

  • Close Veeam Agent.
