1.1. Installation

  • 32-bit: Run vlc-3.0.17.4-win32.exe file with administrative privileges.

  • 64-bit: Run vlc-3.0.17.4-win64.exe file with administrative privileges.

  • Select English.

  • Click OK.

  • Click Next.

  • Click Next.

  • Optional: Select Custom in Select the type of install: dropdown list.

  • Uncheck Desktop Shortcut.

  ■ Mozilla plugin
  ■ ActiveX plugin

□ Delete preferences and cache

  • Click Next.

    C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC

  • Click Install.

  • Wait.

  • Uncheck Run VLC media player.

  • Click Finish.

1.2. Update

  • Log on as Administrator.

  • Start VLC media player.

  • Check Allow metadata network access.

  • Uncheck Regularly check for VLC updates.

  • Click Continue.

  • Select Help > Check for Updates.

  • Click Close.

  • Close VLC media player.

1.3. Configuration

  • Log on as Administrator.

  • Start VLC media player.

  • Check Allow metadata network access.

  • Uncheck Regularly check for VLC updates.

  • Click Continue.

  • Select Tools > Preferences.

  • Select the Interface tab.

  • Locate the Playlist and Instances panel.

  • Check Allow only one instance.

  • Uncheck Enqueue items into playlist in one instance mode.

  • Locate the Privacy / Network Interaction panel.

  • Uncheck Activate updates notifier.

  • Click Save.

  • Close VLC media player.
