Make the USB key writable for only some users.
1.1. Write Protection

Note: This only works if the USB key contains the NTFS file system. If not, then reformat the USB key and specify NTFS as the file system. The strategy is to only allow certain user accounts having write access and disable write accesss for the Everyone account.

Attach the external USB device.

Start File Explorer.

Right-click the drive of the USB key and select Properties.

Select the Security tab.

Click Edit.

Select Everyone.

Check the Full control, Modify and Write permissions.

Click Apply

Click Add.

SMRU domain account:

Click Locations.
-
Select smru.shoklo-unit.com.

Click OK.

Local computer account:
-
Click Locations.
-
Select the computer name.
-
Click OK.

Type the user name and click Check Names.

Click OK.
-
Check the Full control, Modify and Write permissions.

Click Apply.

Select Everyone.
-
Uncheck the Full control, Modify and Write permissions.

Click Apply.

Click OK.

Click OK.

Close File Explorer.
-
Detach the external USB device.
