1. Ethernet Media Converters

  • The netLINK HTB-GS-03 A and HTB-GS-03 B converters are used to bridge the 300 meter distance between KK TB and KK METF office.

  • Both are receiver and transmitter.

  • Both converters have 6 green LED’s.

  • Power cable is connected.

    • LED6 should be on.

  • Ethernet cable is connected.

    • LED1 or LED2 should be on depending on other end connected to 100 Mbps or 1 Gbps ethernet port.

    • LED4 should be on.

  • Fiber optic cable is connected.

    • LED3 and LED5 should be on when cable is alright.

2. Test Equipment

  • Note: Use the λ button to change the wavelength on the Optical Power Meter.

  • A good fiber optic cable should have the following readings.

    • 0850 nm: > 00 dB

    • 0980 nm: > 50 dB

    • 1300 nm: > 50 dB

    • 1310 nm: > -15 dB

    • 1490 nm: > 40 dB

    • 1550 nm: > 50 dB

    • 1625 nm: > 50 dB

  • A good fiber optic cable should have the following readings.

    • 0850 nm: > 90 μW

    • 0980 nm: > 30 μW

    • 1300 nm: > 30 μW

    • 1310 nm: > 30 μW

    • 1490 nm: > 30 μW

    • 1550 nm: > 30 μW

    • 1625 nm: > 25 μW

3. Tool Cutter

  • Green cutter use 40 mm.

  • Blue cutter use 28 mm of the fiber.
