1. 7-Zip Encryption of Confidential Data

  • Note: 7-Zip software is needed.

  • Note: Use 7-Zip with the 7z format to allow file names to be encrypted.

  • Right-click the file or folder.

  • Select 7-Zip > Add to archive.

  • Important: Select Archive format: | 7z.

  • Type the password in the Enter password field.

  • Type the password in the Reenter password field.

  • Important: Check Encrypt file names.

  • Click OK.

2. Access

  • Start Access with blank database.

  • Select File > Open > Browse.

  • Select Access file you need to encrypt.

  • Select Open > Open Exclusive.

  • Select File > Info > Encrypt with Password.

  • Type the password in Password field.

  • Type the password again in Verify field.

  • Click OK.

  • Click OK.

  • Select File > Save.

  • Close Access file.

3. Excel

  • Open Excel file.

  • Select File > Info > Protect Workbook > Encrypt with Password.

  • Type the password in Password field.

  • Click OK.

  • Type the password again in Reenter password field.

  • Click OK.

  • Select File > Save.

  • Close Excel file.

4. PowerPoint

  • Open PowerPoint file.

  • Select File > Info > Protect Presentation > Encrypt with Password.

  • Type the password in Password field.

  • Click OK.

  • Type the password again in Reenter password field.

  • Click OK.

  • Select File > Save.

  • Close PowerPoint file.

5. Word

  • Open Word file.

  • Select File > Info > Protect Document > Encrypt with Password.

  • Type the password in Password field.

  • Click OK.

  • Type the password again in Reenter password field.

  • Click OK.

  • Select File > Save.
