1. 7-Zip Encryption of Confidential Data

Note: 7-Zip software is needed.

Note: Use 7-Zip with the 7z format to allow file names to be encrypted.

Right-click the file or folder.

Select 7-Zip > Add to archive.

Important: Select Archive format: | 7z.
-
Type the password in the Enter password field.
-
Type the password in the Reenter password field.
-
Important: Check Encrypt file names.
-
Click OK.
2. Access
-
Start Access with blank database.
-
Select File > Open > Browse.
-
Select Access file you need to encrypt.
-
Select Open > Open Exclusive.
-
Select File > Info > Encrypt with Password.
-
Type the password in Password field.
-
Type the password again in Verify field.
-
Click OK.
-
Click OK.
-
Select File > Save.
-
Close Access file.
3. Excel
-
Open Excel file.
-
Select File > Info > Protect Workbook > Encrypt with Password.

Type the password in Password field.
-
Click OK.
-
Type the password again in Reenter password field.

Click OK.
-
Select File > Save.
-
Close Excel file.
4. PowerPoint
-
Open PowerPoint file.
-
Select File > Info > Protect Presentation > Encrypt with Password.

Type the password in Password field.
-
Click OK.
-
Type the password again in Reenter password field.

Click OK.
-
Select File > Save.
-
Close PowerPoint file.
5. Word
-
Open Word file.
-
Select File > Info > Protect Document > Encrypt with Password.

Type the password in Password field.
-
Click OK.
-
Type the password again in Reenter password field.

Click OK.
-
Select File > Save.
