Bitlocker Auto Unlock USB Key

  • Attach the external USB key.

  • Open File Explorer.

  • Note: The letter X in the line below is the USB key drive letter (not the letter X).

  • Right-click Local Disk (X:) or USB Drive (X:) and select Unlock Drive.

  • Type the BitLocker password.

  • Click Unlock.

  • Close File Explorer.

  • Open Control Panel > BitLocker Drive Encryption.

  • Expand your USB key under Removable data drives - BitLocker To Go.

  • Select Turn on auto-unlock.

  • Close BitLocker Drive Encryption.
